Pontrieux is recognized as Small City of Character – which is awarded to small towns of historical and architectural interest. The village has many beautiful features, and is best known for its laundries – the old laundries the old laundries which are unique to Britain still border the Trieux River. These picturesque buildings from which the maids washed their linens are a symbols of their time, and can be seen by walking or on one of the river boat trips.


Pontrieux is also a ‘Ville Fleur’ ​​with a ‘4 Fleurs’ status (the highest level) for its exceptional exhibitions of flowers and greenery.


There are numerous shops, art galleries, fantastic restaurants, antique markets and cafes. There is also a marina that offers boat, canoe and kayak tours.
